An Exhibition quality Victorian Period burr walnut, amboyna and ormolu side cabinet. The shaped top veneered in the finest burr walnut with amboyna and ebony banding and finely cast ormolu beading above an inlaid frieze with a central carved cartouche depciting the arts. Having twin amboyna veneered glazed doors enclosing a silk lined shelved interior and having four finely carved, turned and ormolu mounted column supports and fantastic marquetry inlaid panelled doors also enclosing silk lined shelved interiors. Raised on a burr walnut veneered plinth and turned walnut bun feet with ormolu collars. Although un-marked the quality suggests it has been made by one of the premier cabinet makers of this Period ie Holland & Sons, Gillow & Co or Lambs of Manchester. English circa 1870-1880, in stunning condition
