A fine quality mahogany satinwood banded Carlton House desk

A fine quality mahogany satinwood banded Carlton House desk. The upper section of traditional “Carlton House” form having a brass gallery to the sold mahogany top with an arrangement of compartments and drawers with flamed mahogany veneered fronts and banded in satinwood. Having hinged compartments to the ends and an inset green leather writing surface. The lower section with three mahogany drawers having oak linings and fine quality brass handles and locks. Raised on square tapering supports with string inlay and terminating in brass socket castors. The desk is finished all round with beautiful quality flame veneers on the reverse. English circa 1900-1910
