The shaped top veneered in the finest burr walnut with amboyna and ebony banding and finely cast ormolu beading above an inlaid frieze with a central carved cartouche depciting the arts. Having twin amboyna veneered glazed doors enclosing a silk lined shelved interior and having four finely carved, turned and ormolu mounted column supports and fantastic marquetry inlaid panelled doors also enclosing silk lined shelved interiors. Raised on a burr walnut veneered plinth and turned walnut bun feet with ormolu collars. Although un-marked the quality suggests it has been made by one of the premier cabinet makers of this Period ie Holland & Sons, Gillow & Co or Lambs of Manchester. English circa 1870-1880, in stunning condition
