A fine quality Shapland & Petter Arts & Crafts walnut hall stand. The whole constructed in solid walnut, the upper section having a shield shaped bevelled mirror and retaining the original brass coat and hat hooks and having a central heart shaped motif typical of Shapland & Petter designs. Having a hinged glove box and open ends for walking sticks and umbrellas, retaining the original metal drip trays to the under tier. English circa 1900-1910, stamped with the design number for Shapland & Petter one of the finest designers of this period.
