A beautiful burr walnut Victorian Period antique pedestal desk
A beautiful burr walnut Victorian Period antique pedestal desk. Having a rectangular top with an inset black gilt and blind tooled writing surface and veneered in beautifully figured burr walnut with a walnut moulded edge. Featuring a pair of rectangular frieze drawers above the knee hole, flanked by a further three drawers to each pedestal, each with fine quality drawer linings, burr walnut drawer fronts, turned walnut drawer pulls, brass escutcheons and working locks and key. The reverse of the desk having two rectangular “dummy drawers” and two cupboards enclosing shelved interiors. With burr walnut ends, the whole supported on a burr walnut veneered plinth with concealed brass castors. English circa 1870, this desk is in stunning condition.
