A superb Regency Period mahogany chiffonier by Gillows Of Lancaster. The upper section having two mahogany shelves with a finely turned ballustrade gallery raised on finely carved columns. The lower section of breakfront outline in the finest figured mahogany, above four rectangular mahogany doors with brass grilles and silk lined panels and having reeded pilasters, enclosing adjustable mahogany shelves. The whole raised on turned squat bun feet. English circa 1820-1830
Condition: This chiffonier is in stunning condition, superb quality, colour and patination. Replacement silk panels. Although un-marked it can be firmly attributed to Gillows of Lancaster and is similar to a chiffonier on page 385 of Susan Stuarts Gillows of Lancaster volume 2. The distinctive shaped ballustrade gallery also appears on Gillows of Lancaster davenports and side cabinets on page 19 & 32.
