73" high x 83" wide x 22" deep

A good Arts & Crafts Period mahogany antique wardrobe by Morris & Co. The upper section having a moulded cornice with dentil mouldings and rectangular doors to the ends with wonderful figured mahogany oval panels and opening to reveal an internal bevelled mirror and brass hanging rail. The central section with sliding shelves and three mahogany lined drawers. The octagonal brass back plates and handles are reminiscent of Gimson and Barnsley designs from the Cotswold school 1900-1910. The lower section having three rectangular mahogany lined drawers all raised on brass rectangular bracket feet, reminiscent of W.A.S. Benson. The quality of this wardrobe is second to none, with finely cut dovetails and a panelled mahogany back showing the quality of the cabinet work which can be firmly attributed to Morris & Co designs of the Period. English circa 1910
